From 5 to 6 September 2026 this journey takes the «Prestige Continental-Express» from Zurich over the Gotthard panorama line into Ticino, weaving together Locarno, Lake Maggiore, the Brissago Islands and stylish indulgence on board into a nostalgic luxury rail trip.

Two days of dolce vita: over the Gotthard in a salon carriage, an evening on Lake Maggiore and an island day on Brissago.
Departure around 9 a.m. from Zurich main station. In the elegant dining cars of the «Prestige Continental-Express», styled after the legendary Orient Express, we experience the rail travel of bygone days. The route runs through the Limmat valley and the Freiamt, via Arth-Goldau onto the Gotthard panorama line over Airolo to Bellinzona. A freshly prepared lunch is served on board. We continue first class to Locarno and check in at the Hotel Belvedere Superior with lake view. The evening is free.
We travel in the faithfully recreated salon carriages «Le Salon Bleu» and «Le Rubis Noir» in the style of the 1920s and the legendary Orient Express. Fine woods, the finest fabrics and a luxurious atmosphere define the air-conditioned dining cars.
